Dumping rubbish at Re-cycling Centre

Please be aware of the following press release from South Cambs District Council:

“Fixed litter fines given out in Fulbourn

Two people illegally dumping household waste at the Tesco recycling centre in Fulbourn have been tracked down and fined by South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC).

Using clues from the dumped sacks of non-recyclable rubbish, SCDC investigators identified the offenders and served them each with a fixed £75 penalty notice. 

Councillor Ray Manning, environmental health portfolio holder said, “We have recycling centres across the district under close surveillance, particularly those in the car parks of the Bar Hill, Fulbourn and Milton Tesco stores and the Willingham Co-op.

”Dumping at these centres is not only anti-social and illegal, it also puts off responsible residents who want to recycle.

There is no excuse for dumping any kind of rubbish in South Cambridgeshire. Littering is a criminal offence and we will actively pursue all offenders.”
