Committees and Their Functions
The Parish Council has two Committees - Planning and Environment
PLANNING COMMITTEE
Meets twice a month if there is planning business to consider - on the second and fourth Thursdays at 1.30 pm. Planning applications are studied and sometimes site visits are made, when the Committee meets the residents and asks what they plan to do. Any comments by neighbours are also taken into consideration. A recommendation is then made to South Cambridgeshire Disctrict Council who have the final decision.
This Committee also considers
walls and boundary fences within the jurisdiction of the Council
Parish Council owned footpaths
bus shelters
play equipment
The Committee's decisions are then reported to the full Council at its monthly meetings. There are certain retrictions placed on this Committee. If the planning application would involve a major change in the village, then the whole Council is involved in any decision.
