We currently have one vacancy, to be filled by co-option, to help manage the Council’s resources, including green spaces, trees, play areas, buildings, and decide on strategies, what activities to support and on what to spend money for the community.  Responsible to the people of Bar Hill as well as monitoring and ensuring effective provision of services from other local authorities.

To qualify a person must on the day of co-option be a British and/or Commonwealth subject or citizen of the European Union or Ireland and attained the age of 18 years, and

  1. on that day is and thereafter continues to be a local government elector for the area of the Authority; and/or
  2. has during the whole 12 months preceding that day occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the area; and/or
  3. his or her principal or only place of work during that 12 months has been in the area; or
  4. during the whole 12 months has resided in that area; and/or
  5. during the whole 12 months has resided in the Parish or within 4.8km (3miles) of it and be free of either a criminal record or bankruptcy (see also Section 80 of the Local Government Act 1972 regarding disqualification)
